Keith Fahey joined Blues from Irish side St. Patrick's Athletic FC on a three-and-a-half year deal in January 2009.
The midfielder made an immediate impact at St. Andrew's, helping the team earn promotion and chipping in with some vital goals.
The Dublin-born player began his professional career as a trainee with Arsenal before moving up to the Midlands to join Aston Villa in 1999 for £250,000.
He failed to settle in Aston and returned to his home country without making a first team appearance for the Villans.
Back in Ireland he initially linked up with non-league side Bluebell United before swiftly moving to join up with FAI League of Ireland Premier Division side St. Patrick's.
He spent two season's with the club before switching to Drogheda United.
But after a period of just seven months, the former Ireland youth international returned to St. Patrick's.
Fahey is highly regarded for his free-kicks and corners, as well as his creativity in the centre of midfield.
In 2008 he was named as the PFAI Premier Division Player of the Year.
